TN > 2016 Roan Higher Colder Hang

I don't think getting there will be the problem.
Surely everyone has seen the forecast for the middle Atlantic states by now.
All those maps show the deluge hitting east TN, southwest Va.
The issue will be trying to leave.
If it is 2-3 feet at Carvers it will take DOT days to get there.
If you come be prepped for the possible extended stay.
But really how often to the meteorologists get it right?

As I'm sitting here Poof is reading off the forecast via NOAH for Mt. Mitchell....4-8 inches tonight,
FriDAY 10-16 inches, FriDAY night 3-5.
Add it up. If you are there you will be there for a while....just saying.

Wind gusts expected to 48mph on Mitchell.

Why Mitchell? Closest match to Roan.

Just don't miss all of the other days by forcing this one. JC already has had about 5 inches this morning. It will be adding between now and Saturday. The wind in the mountain area could be a white out with the heavy winds.

Not sure how much overtime it takes to repair a truck.

GHSP closed yesterday which shut down the Mt Rogers Winter Hang. Those that were already there moved over to Hot Springs,NC. Also a group at Hawksbill parking are in the LG.

I think that I'm going to try to go to Hot Springs. I'll be looking for the reschedule. I hate it, but I need to be able to make it home through Sam's Gap.
