Hey gang, we're getting pretty close to the big day.

Weather as of today (Jan 21) looks pretty good
    • Friday, January 29: -10 Feels like -18, Low of -10, POP80% Light snow
    • Saturday, January 30: -5 Feels like -8, Low of -5, POP20% Mainly sunny
    • Sunday, January 31: -3 Feels like -8, Low of -4, POP80% Snow
    • Monday, February 1: -3 Feels like -4, Low of -6, POP40% Scattered flurries
    • Tuesday, February 2: -5 Feels like -13, Low of -8, POP80% Snow
    • Wednesday, February 3: -6 Feels like -12, Low of -10, POP40% Scattered flurries
    • Thursday, February 4: -7 Feels like -10, Low of -10, POP20% A mix of sun and clouds

To Lofty's point, let's plan to meet up by the Crack Trail Parking lot Friday late morning with a start time of noon. With sunset around 5pm, that should give us plenty of time to do the ~2km to camp. We'll have to get permits; maybe one person registers everyone to save time (firm confirmations and $ required though). Carpooling is suggested.

Do we want group stews/soups? French Canadian Pea Soup was light to carry and quite nice. I'm going to have to ask if we can divy up the group gear this time though.

Role call so far goes something like this...

    Weekend 1 (Jan 29th - 31st)
    • Chard
    • Capt. Haddock (UK)
    • Bob (UK)
    • Lofty
    • Iguana
    • 76 Highboy (Mon-Tues?)
    • Ggreaves
    • Keg?
    • Bubba?

    Mid Week (Feb 1st - 5th)

    • Capt. Haddock (UK)
    • Bob (UK)

    Weekend 2 (Feb 5th - 7th)
    • Chard
    • Capt. Haddock (UK)
    • Bob (UK)
    • Iguana
    • Connie?
    • Jayson?
    • Mark1065?

I'm good with the meeting time as well as I have a few spots of interest I've marked in the map ( used google earth / Jeffs map / topo )

where ever we setup, the coordinates can be posted Monday for the next weekend to find Capt. Haddock and Bob !

    Group Gear

I will bring my hot tent as a warming / drying hut (if anyone needs) - nice to take off the morning chill
and the saws and axes required by EGL group hang handbook ( I think its a minimum 3 sharp objects and 3 stoves )

With the warmish temps I'm debating weather or not to bring the smokehouse and stove along. Sure is nice in there though. We'll see.
Anyone want to meet up at Timmies on Dunlop drive Barrie, say 7:30 ish?
Will be bringing the req 3 sharp objects but only 2 stoves.
No signs,no fees,no rules, nobody. My kind of campsite.

That's up to the Brits. Base-camping or moving, we'll try to get more clarification.

I'm in for Saturday to Saturday. I'll need breadcrumbs to follow. Preferably to where you guys will be camped.

There is cell service on the ridges

On Friday after we set up I'll post our location here so those on Saturday can find us.

Good to have you onboard Quiet. Bringing the smokehouse?

    Thanks Lofty.

I checked Rogers "stated coverage" and they "appear" to have coverage in the areas we're looking at, although we might have to look around to find a reception sweet spot.

    Anybody have some flagging tape?

    Thanks Lofty, much appreciated.

I'm bringing the Smokehouse; my old bones need the warmth to relax at night.

Really looking forward to this; haven't had a chance to get away this winter. Thanks for putting this together Chard.
