    Dutch Hexon Hammock

Hey guys! Looking for a little advice. I'm 6'3" 240 lbs or so. After all the reviews I've decided I go with a Dutch Hexon hammock. Problem is I don't know whether to go with a single 1.6 or double 1.0(or 1.0/1.6 combo). Reasons for asking are A) it's tough to get a reading on the weight limits from the website B) I still haven't invested in an UQ. I have a TQ that I love, but for now I'm still using a pad. So as we all know a double layer is much better for pads, but I'm wondering if the less slick feel of these would keep a pad in place. Also, I would like to keep the weight down as much as possible as I do backpack most of the nights I use a hammock. Thanks for any info!!!

You'll be very comfy in a single 1.6... I weigh anywhere from 235-255 and I love the 1.6 ... It has a comfortability rating of 325 i believe.

I have a 1.6 and I think single would work for you, but there's also the Hexon 2.4. Cheaper than a double layer and much more heavy duty. I have a 2.4 also and it is comfy.

Ask Jared at simply light designs to make you a segmented pad extender

All of these would work and cheaper than buying an underquilt.

According to Dutch's sight 1.0 is rated for 250lbs
    1.6 is rated for 350lbs
    2.5 is rated for 400lbs

I purchased a 1.0 hexon single layer a few weeks ago. I'm 6'2 220lbs. I know I am pushing the limits but I love this material and I'm shooting for an ultralight setup.

I think I really only need a single 1.6. I hate to order and carry the extra weight of double only to put a pad in between the layers.

    Rob,
I had the same dilemma not long ago. I started off with a $10 wallmart pad and grand trunk, then invested in 20deg HG TQ and much better Klymit pad.
I finally pulled the trigger on Dutch's single layer Hexon 1.0. The hammock is great, suspension is amazing. As for the pad, it takes some work and some of them move more than others.
I would recommend you go with Klymit Insulated V Luxe. If you keep it slightly deflated it does not move around as much.

Its rated for 4 seasons and packs down pretty small.
If you end up with double layer 1.0 hexon will be sufficient. For single, you should probably go with 1.6
