So I make $20 donation to Hammock Forums but I can't post in For Sale Forum. What kind of benefit is that.

In order to be able to post in FS you must have a 50 post count. It has nothing to do with donating members. Below is a copy/paste from the first 3 items in the Q&A

1) Who can post in the FS section? Any member of Hammock Forums (HF) with more than 50 posts who has subscribed to the FS Group.

2) How do I subscribe to the FS Group? Go here (Hammock Forum "For Sale" forum guidelines) and follow the instructions. You will have immediate access.

3) Why do I need 50 posts before using the FS section? The HF members want to get to know you and we would like to ensure you are contributing rather than using HF as just a place to sell items.

What are the best practices when/if an item is offered for sale outside of HF? IE. on another forum or for local sale?

If it is local I would ask to inspect it, meet in public and be safe. If online, I would say use paypal, and choose the option that guarantees that you will get your money back of it isnt right. (The one that does not say send to friend or family)

I should have been clearer.

I have an item I want to offer for sale here and simaltaneously list it on another forum. I would honor the first 'I'll take it' regardless of where it originates. But for full disclosure to members on both sites is there a suggested disclaimer of sorts that i should include in the post?

The general rule I've used when posting items for sale across multiple forums/platforms is stating in the for sale ad that item(s) being sold are "cross-posted"

There is no "rule" but as suggested above I would be very clear that you have the item posted in multiple places and the first time stamp will get the item regardless of which place it comes from. You will need to also be very diligent about making sure the minute you sell it some place else, you come here and close/move your thread.

That would be my suggestions for keeping everything above board.

You will find the link at the top of the FS section or in my signature. Specifically check out the link titled joining and maintaining. Please be sure you read the guidelines carefully as they are enforced. Also you will not be able to post anything FS until you reach 50 posts but you can certainly purchase items if you wish.
