Continuous loops... What do I do with them now?

So I made some using Lash-It.

What do I use them for other than a teaching tool on splicing Amsteel?

I'm thinking I could user them as prusiks on my ridgeline along with a nite-Ize biner to attach the tarp, but that's all I can come up with. Thoughts?

I am hanging in a HH Expedition currently.

I've never made any continuous loops out of Zing-It - not sure what I would do with them if I did. I use Zing-It 1.75 mm for my tarp ridgeline and guylines. I also attach my tarp to the continuous ridgeline using soft shackle prusiks.

I make my continuous loops out of Amsteel 7/64. I run them through the sewn channels of my hammock, and connect Dutch Whoopie Hooks to them. I also carry Amsteel continuous loops to extend my 4 ft. tree straps to get around bigger trees.

Depending on the size you can use them for securing items to your pack. I have a dogbone attached to my Leatherman Squirt and I can larks head it onto a strap of my pack and put it in a pocket. If it is dropped it's not going far.

Is Zing-It as slippery as Lash-It? What knot do you use to attach the guylines to the tarp? How long is the piece of Zing-It you use for your ridgeline?

Zing-It and Lash-It are the same thing, different color. You can use any knot to attach things to the ridgeline.

I use a 35 ft. Zing-It 1.75 mm ridgeline. I used to use 30 ft., but came up short a few times - 35 feet so far has worked great.

Now learn how to make a soft shackle and use those as a prussic to attach your tarp to your CRL. I would guess (but don't know) that the skills you learned to make a continuous loop would be transferable to makeing a soft shackle. I think they're more useful becasue the open and close.

I use the soft shackle to attach the tarp to the ridgeline?

Meaning I prussik on the soft shackle and then open and close the soft shackle part to attach the tarp which would put the opening/closure on the tarp connector am I visualizing that correctly?

Sorry everybody was new to hammock at one point in time!

You probably want a soft shackle prusik, not a soft shackle.

I use 6" zing-it! continuous loops to attach poles to my tarp. They are less work to make than dogbones. Also use them to attach linelocs to tarp tie out points using a prussik... just so it fills the attachment point and doesn't skew.
