I hope those that were/are out there are enjoying themselves. I bowed out due to those frigid temps last night, knowing I had been chilled around 37*F with my current setup. Wish I had joined the site a few days sooner!
In response to missing this hang, I've ordered my 5oz Climashield and fabrics to prepare for 10-15*F. Tackling some DIY UQ+TQ over the holidays sounds perfect

My wife and I had a great time at the hang. Great to see old friends and meet new folks. Looking forward to the next one already!
I had to pack up and flee early
sat. am, but I was there from wed. noon till then. I was in a WBRR, UGQ 20deg. Ambush UQ, UGQ 20deg. Flight Jacket TQ, and slept warm, even with the wind and 28deg. temps. The thing I failed to bring was my gloves and my eating spoon. On the plus side my wife had put some plastic spoons and forks in my gear box, I found them and all was well. May tag and his great wife Janice furnished a warm fire and a bit of good food. Several folks drifted in and a good time was had by all. I wish it had worked for me to make it all, but duty calls sometimes. I look forward to seeing many of you in Florida in Jan.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.

Glad I was able to make up after work Friday night, the wind was something else. I had to drive AROUND a few tree tops and limbs that were falling on the road just getting there. The fire that Maytag had going was a nice warm spot to be around, and got to meet a couple of new folks as well. I stayed until everyone (minus one person that volunteered to watch the fire) until it burned down and then I left and drove back down the roads to home. I could not bring myself to try and set a tarp and hammock in the dark and with the winds gusts it would not have gone as well as I would have liked anyway. But.......I'll definitely be at the Florida Hang at Doe Lake hang next month, regardless of the wind, rain or snow!
