Lol, yeah. I'm huge. Seriously though, the bridge helps as the stretcher bars allows for a wide lay. I tried a gathered end and it was ok, but for now I prefer a bridge.

I have home made, cottage made, gathered end, bridge, long wide ones, ones not so wide or long. My favorite is always the one I am laying in. Seriously. I just love a hammock.

Hang your own hang but for me, I like gathered end; I'm 5'7" so I can be comfortable in a gathered end and they're by far the lightest set up which is an important criteria for me. I'm into the ultralight and gathered end just fits with ultralight!

Excuse me, my newbie is showing...

What do you guys define as a hybrid?

I've seen a one spreader bridge here...

Seen some vendors call their design a hybrid because it has integrated rainfly or other stuff- but at it's core they seem to be one kind of hammock or another...

    Asym hammocks...

Or just all of the above- Anything other than a bridge or regular gathered end?
Or is there a specific style you're speaking of?

Bridge for me. My WBRR is my favorite hammock. Second would the Blackbird. The WBRR is heavier, but it's also the most comfortable.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, except bears...because bears will just kill you.
