Who would think you'd need a 20* in FL, after attending the last four FH my vote would be for a 20*. Vent it in warmer weather if needed. You could do a 30* and add a pad or space blanket for the four days its in the 20's in FL...

Get the 20 since you already have the PLUQ for the warmer stuff,
Thanks Duckyy. I don't have one, but that is a quick afternoons work if I find it necessary.
I'm in Florida, but most of my hiking is out of state. I think once you decide to make some Georgia / NC runs, you'll definitely be happier with something more than a 40. I've got a 3 season Jarbridge that's perfect for most situations and a 0 degree Incubator on the way for winter temps.
Little late to this but I've been curious about this as well. Would a 40 with over stuff be the compromise between a 40 and 20? I'm in the Tampa area as well and most of our camping is in Florida.
Also what is a pluq? I'm just getting into hammock camping. Is it a partial length under quilt.
I am in west central Florida, an hour south of Tampa. A CCF pad has worked for me for the last 5 years. My wife has ordered me a HG Incubator 40 for Xmas, I am excited to not have to wrestle with a pad anymore, and I am confident the 40 for my needs will be enough. I will be ordering the Burrow 40 TQ sometime after Xmas, if it dips below 40 I can always layer clothing or supplement with the pad.
We live in ocala. 30° UQ would work from fall all the way through to spring. We go with no UQ for late spring through summer to early fall. With some clothes layering you are good with a 40° year round. Except that one weekend at the hammock hang when it gets to 23° and high humidity.
Good to hear about the 40. I've been looking at the wilderness logics summer series and the hg 40 incubator. Decisions decisions.
I thought about a 40° with overstuff but for the cost decided to go with the a 20° and forgo the overstuff. Just got it yesterday and plan to test it tommorow, but our cold snap is gone so I won't be pushing the quilts limit. I figured I would be set for colder spells and the chance of out of state trips. Probably going to get a 40° top quilt though, since I have a 30° sleeping bag I can use.
