    That I can visualize.

    I always wondered why people put loops on the toggles. I made some with aluminum tubing and put shockcord loops on them because I though that was what the cool kids did.

    Yes, the hitch needs to be within the length of the tether you make to hold the toggle. The minor advantages of this method is that 1) you don't need to alter a tree strap that only has loop on one end, and 2) the toggle is already hanging close by when you are ready to use it - no fishing for the working end of the strap.

    To be clear, I just wanted to show a different method here, and am not saying this is superior or inferior. HYOH
