Brought back some memories from the early 80's,hadn't visited with them in quite some time. Thanks for that.

There was one person at McAfee Knob when I got there. He had lived close by for something like 35 years and it was his first time to ever climb up. It's definitely worth a return visit.

Great report. Sorry about not feeling well. I've hiked many, many miles of the AT in VA and have yet to hike up to McAfee knob either, but plan on it next year. Looking forward to it!
