Do you think it would be possible to larkshead a kola to my continuous loop, and use my 12ft kevlar tree straps on it?

Cheers, I may order a couple to test it out. I got the idea from watching some of your videos

Absolutely..

This is a stainless KoLA.. I've stopped using these because of the weight and, frankly, because I wanted to use the originals once they became available again. I still have these, but have since switched to the smaller Ti LA's on Dynaglide CL's. The Ti version is too small to thread the kevlar straps through.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Thanks, that looks good. For the price, I'll give it a go.
If I don't misunderstand the real loop alien website, the aluminium wouldn't work for this though? Not able to handle the weight.

Well, it depends..
Truth is, they won't work as shown in my previous post because they are too small relative to the size of the kevlar strap. There is a picture of the KoLA's next to the original LA's someplace here in the forums.. not sure where. I can post one later if you can't find it. They are a bit more than half the size. I have seen the aluminum KoLAs fail under weight, for sure. They are rather thin and I wouldn't trust them for anything important..
Having said this, I use the aluminum original LA's on my Arrowhead Equip Bushman Hammock Chair in the same fashion I use the Ti on my hammock. They are spliced onto the Dynaglide CL's, and are connected to the Kevlar straps via Dynaglide 5' leaders. I hang from that regularly, and accept that they might fail on my at some point, but truth told, I am not sleeping in the Bushman and rarely spend extended periods in it so I accept the risk. I did just order four more Ti LA's, so maybe I'll swap them out over the winter.

I found this discussion to be very helpful. I just ordered a pair of knock-off loop aliens for 75 cents shipped! I'm planning on using them with my Superfly in about 3 weeks when they arrive.
