I don't think rec math (math as it applies to games and puzzles) is at all recreational either. Think "chess computer". I'm especially intrigued in how math applies to three-dimensional puzzles, particularly those made up of combinations of cubes, e.g. cubic pentonimoes and their relatives.

TominMN I think you are right. The continuous loop I'm using--locked brummel and reversing buries is probably the worst option. Oh no, now I gotta buy more AmSteel. Shades
Unless your hanging two people in one hammock, you'll be fine FWIW. Amsteel is plenty strong. But you are reducing the knot efficiency unnecessarily and splicing Amsteel is fun.
