Unboxing the Snugpak Hammock Cocoon with Travelsoft Filling

I received my shipment of 3 Snugpak Cocoons on Tuesday, about 5 calendar days after I ordered them off Groupon.
I immediately opened the box and here are my first impressions.

    Size
The cocoons came shipped in their stuff sack and their initial size was that of a 3lb sleeping bag.
The compression straps were not tight when shipped so there was some room to compress.
Opening the stuff suck revealed the cocoon was rolled before packed.
I extracted the cocoon and stuffed it like I would do outdoors and it bulked up a little bit more but still easy to get in the sack.
Upon applying the compression straps I was able to get the size down less than it was shipped.
I didn't have a tape measure at the office so I'll have to follow up with exact measurements.

    Stuff Sack
I know this may sound minor, but the stuff sack had some nice touches.
The compression straps were of nice quality.
    The material seems heavy duty.
And the opening had a nice flap so that everything was covered when you cinch the sack.
My goal is to be able to fit the cocoon, hammock, suspension, and straps all in the same stuff sack.
I'm am very confident that this stuff sack can do it.

    Weight
The one concern I had when ordering was that this wouldn't be warm enough to leave my mummy bag at home.
I haven't tested but the weight of this cocoon seems like it would be more than capable of keeping me warm down to some low temps.
When compared to my mummy bag, it is heavier.
When compared to my mummy bag and the second bag I was using as a underquilt/topquilt, it is much lighter.
I know weight doesn't completely equate to insulative value but the cocoon seems substantial.

    Fabric
This is the hardest to describe.
It's much heavier than tent fabric.
    More substantial than nylon.
It doesn't seem like a type of cotton.
It almost like you take a tent fabric glued to pliable tyvek.
It has a sheen to it so it is reflective.

    Zipper
Zipper was a heavier duty zipper with a fairly easy travel.
I forgot to check to see if there was a baffle for the zipper. :-(

    Ends
The ends initially scared me into thinking I made a huge mistake.
Here's where some instructions, or even a simple graphic, would have been nice.
Each end had an opening you could fit a cantaloupe through.
There were two loops on each end for what initially seems like to keep the cocoon from slipping down (again, the large opening).
There was no cinch strap or anything obvious to close the opening down.
Here's where I imagined having to buy or make some custom ends to compliment the cocoon, which is not what I had intended.
Well, after being dumbfounded for about 10 second, I realized you are suppose to fit one loop through the other to close the ends.
This will cinch the end down relatively well.
It would have been better to have four loops and a cinch line but I guess they believe the two loops work just fine.
We shall see when I test this winter.

    That's it for the unboxing.
When I put some nights in it I'll report back.

Take care all and thanks for hanging around!

I'd be really interested in some pictures, too...and to hear how well it does in cold weather. How long of a hammock will it accommodate? I need to insulate my daughter's hammock and had planned to go with a Snugpak under blanket, but maybe the cocoon would be better...?
