    OH-Mohican?-December/January?-Winter Hang

Well, Hobo Pelican put the 12 night challenge out there and I am up to giving it a shot, so we need to keep the ball rolling. Let’s see what we can make of a December and/or January Hang. I am a possible for the weekends of December the 4th, 11th, or 18th, but I am on call the weekend of the 25-27. Mohican always works good for me, but if anyone has an alternative, I can be swayed. I don’t have a January schedule yet but you can all start looking at what is good for most. That discussion can always be carried over to a new thread when the time comes. Please chime in with any thoughts and schedule information so we try for the best turnouts posible.

    December 4, 11, 18, 25?
    Diz*- possible, possible, possible, BAD.

    January 1, 8, 15, 22, 29?

I'm in for any of the dates except Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Mohican is fine (lower sites even finer), but I'd be up for a change of venue also.

My calendar fills up quickly so I cannot guarantee but at this point all dates are open expect Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. If you are looking for other locations: Wildcat Hollow down by Burr Oak or Lake Hope?

Christmas is a no go for me. Any other weekend works for me, with no preference.

@Revsbentley- have you had experience at those location? Good for a group?

Wildcat Hollow is a 15 mile trail but there is a good group camp area within a few hundred feet of the trail head. Its been a while since was there but I believe they had a pit toilet there as well. I have to confess that I was not looking at this area in terms of Hammock camping when I was last there as that was before I became one. I would be willing to travel down and scout it out again on a day off.

I mentioned Lake Hope above but as I have not been there in a few years there have been many changes. All of their backpack trails have been turned into bike trails and the back country camping areas are no longer listed in their maps. So this needs to come off my list for hammock camping.

The Zaleski trails are close by there but none of camping areas look to be near any parking. Meaning that staying there would be a good hike in.

C Camp is 1/4 mile from the service road, maybe closer.
