    Video: Dangerous tarp (DIY)

Hey guys, I made this tarp back in January but have been waiting to get some use out of it before I made this post.
I started off with 8 yards of grey 1.1 silnylon 2nds from DIYgearsupply.com, and I used their plans, modified to my needs.

You can see it has only has doors on one side. I got to really liking this style while using my Tadpole with the door kit on one side.

I've taken this tarp out on a few multi-day trips and several backyard overnights and I can tell you it can hold it's own in some pretty bad weather. One trip we had wind gusts up to 35-40 mph and driving rain both nights and I stayed totally dry and comfortable. It was also nice to tie back my hammock during the day and have a huge dry place to play with gear or just hang out with my kids.

Here is a video walk around, let me know what you think.

Great looking job on your tarp. I like to doors on just one end, good coverage plus ventilation. I use a set of Grizbeaks on one end of my 3 season tarp.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Nice job on the tarp, Sir. I dig it. I like the linelocs attached directly to the tarp. No fuss, no muss. Doors on one side is cool, too. I usually only close one side on my SF, just the head end.

It's a great feeling making it yourself. I just got started "real" DIY and haven't made much, but what I have made gives me a great sense of accomplishment, and a feeling of pride. A tarp is in my future.

Be proud. You made a great piece of gear.

Size comparison between my tarp and the Tadpole. Also shot another video showing how I pack up my tarps here.
