Black Friday sales on hammock gear?

I hope this is the right forum to post this. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any hammock gear suppliers having a Black Friday sale this year? Otherwise, are there other times of the year that they usually run sales? I'm starting from scratch and would love to get in on a sale for some of it if possible.

There's usually Black Friday sales from a variety of vendors; you'll see them posted / discussed on this site.

Under Ground Quilts has been doing a BF sale, 10 percent off last yr....I'll be after 3 quilts.

The ones that will have a BF sale will make a announcement under their section of the forum

If you search "Black Friday", there are posts that say what vendors have put up for sales in previous years. That should give you an idea. Discounts usually range in the 10-25% off range. Don't expect too many "doorcrashers"... There's not a whole lot of margin in the cottage manufacturing industry. Plus, manufacturers that have to make their items in shop (IE quilts) tend to get swamped with big sales and orders get really backed up. Which tends to upset customers...

It's not a lot, but for us Canadians and our crappy dollar, it can make up for some of the exchange. I kind of wish I had splurged two years ago when this wasn't the case.

I never considered the exchange...that's a good point. Personally, I save money by shipping to the border and picking everything up when it's convenient and when I have enough stuff to make the trip worthwhile. Having to pay a quarter on the dollar extra on everything does suck, though...

I thinks it's great these small manufacturers do any any BF sales at all. As mentioned before, there's not a ton of margin in most of this gear, and offering a discount is s nice way to support the community.
