Thanks to all who attended. It was a true regional hang, with 13 hangers from West Virginia, 2 each from Pennsylvania and Virginia, and one from parts unknown (are you out there, Buzz?) We had good food, fine music, and a glorious natural setting. With temps near freezing the first night and in the 20's the second, those heated bath houses with hot showers and dish-washing stations were most welcome. The sun warmed us up every day, though. It was perfect hiking weather, as you can see from the photos. The small raffle distributed 4 hammocks and 7 other prizes, and raised $366 for the Watoga State Park Foundation as well as paying for our campsites and firewood.

You might be wondering about Buzz. He said he's a lurker on the forum and a seeker of knowledge about hammocks. In person, calling him a lurker seems too sinister, though. He was more like a friendly forest spirit that drifted through the trees into the campground, blessed the proceedings, and then just as mysteriously disappeared. Of course, his tall figure and long straggly beard could explain why some outsiders come here some years searching for bigfoot, but the locals don't give them much credence. A lot of us look like that, too. I hope Buzz puts in an appearance next October. The rest of us all agreed that we want to do the same.
