If I understand correctly primarily suspension is the cord that runs the length of the underquilt and the secondary is the one the goes around the headbox and footbox of the underquilt. I believe that yes, you could use these to replace the cord locks.

No, the secondary suspension is a second shock cord that doesn't hold the uq up (that's the job of the primary suspension, like on your Greylock), but to pull the quilt apart to prevent sag (= air gaps under your butt). The LineLocs are sewn on to the uq, directly under the primary suspension. Then you'll add a thinner shock cord.

I wonder if there's a question that doesn't have a shug video for an explanation..... not sure if that's a world I want to live in

Just to make sure the difference has been explained, the cord you are describing cinches the quilt closed at the head and foot end so there are no gaps of air coming in. The suspension is what keeps the quilt up and apart. Figure first one is keeping it up, second one is keeping it more pulled apart, or in the direction you want it pulled.

Everytime I get a Shug video answer from the man himself I get all excited, "he answered me!"

....then I feel shame at not searching his library for the answer first.

I use them on my DIY tarps to set the tension on my guy lines. They work almost identically to Dutch's tarpworms IMO, just a bulkier version.

You can use cord to attach like this, so its not a permanent thing.

Advantage is that you can quickly adjust tension from under the tarp without getting wet in the rain, more useful for guylines that ridgeline IMHO
