Roche and I hit the Great Smokey Mountains

Roche and I hit the Great Smokey Mountains for some backpacking and hammock fun while Roche becomes part of an elite group (The Great Smokey Mountains 900 Milers club) Congratulations Roche and thanks for taking me along on your last leg. Also thanks for snuggling with me in the shleter to warm me up

I also want to mention that there is not much hammock footage as we were in rain for most of the hike. And my Hammock Gear Aysm kept me dry the whole time. No problems with water coming in on the ends.. Aysm tarp wins again !

Nice video guys! How did you keep your feet dry? Didn't see any fires.

Honestly, the only time our feet got dry was at the end of the day when we climbed into our hammocks. Just an FYI about gortex: it maynot allow water into your shoes but when it does get in, it doesn't want to allow water out either .

I mistook the beard for Traffic's ponytail.

Jaxx - thanks for making what would have been a miserable and forgettable solo hike into a fun adventure. The rain did take away the views but that's reason enough make another outing in the Great Smoky Mountains - you pick the route.

I hope to hike with you again in the near future.

Jaxx, good trip report. Yep, miles in the GSMNP can be trying--Low Gap is short but steep. Glad you and Roche had a good time in the Smokies' liquid sunshine. You'll have to come again when you can see more of what you're getting into.

Nice Video!! Were there's a downhill there's a freaking uphill!! Lol!! I love the setup on your pack for the water bottles, is this something you rigged up yourself? Is it just shock cord with locks?
