Cat cut on short end of Bridge Hammock

So I'm getting ready to start my first bridge hammock build and have read over and over different threads on design and builds. I have been thinking over and over designs and one thing that I have not seen (maybe for good reason) ,or even been able to find, anyone that has put a catenary (or parabolic) cut on the short side of a bridge hammock. I was just wondering if I was overlooking it or if anyone has tried this. Just wondering if the lay would be different at all or if it would pretty much be the same?

I'd been wondering too, and not just for bridge hammocks. For instance, why not give it bucket seat?

Well since you brought up bucket seat that brings me to my other question on a bridge hammock. Could you make one side of the triangle suspension adjustable so you could shorten just one side of the triangle at both ends to make it more of a seat with a back? I'm going to experiment on my own but like I said before if anyone else has tried I'd love to hear your results! As far as a catenary cut on a gathered end hammock WalksIn2Tress I believe that Simply Light Designs already does this to help eliminate the calf ridge. http://www.simplylightdesigns.com

I recently posted a video of my 3 new bridge hammocks and demonstrated that it works extremely well. Instead of shortening one leg I lengthened the opposite one. Grizz's suspension with lanyard knots and soft shackles built in to the ends of the suspension triangle legs makes a great way to do this without adding weight or $$$. See his (Grizz = Professor Hammock) video on you tube entitle "Gone Loopy". It's part 3 of one of his hammock design series, here. I tried it to make the taut edge cut into the back of my legs less, and it did that, but it also gave me a very comfortable back rest.

By the 'short side' you mean the ends, yes? so the question would really be about the shape of the end-caps. I've used several different shapes there, more trying to simplify construction of the end-cap than to affect the lay (which I don't think it does). I find the parabolic the most aesthetically pleasing of the shapes.
