The extra fabric is a stroke of genius. If the need arises it will be a good place to secure grograin to tie onto the stand.

I know where I will be at HangCon if it rains
Its big enough for a party

We used the prototype as a point if reference to navigate around the campsite at MAHHA. It was awesome and glorious!

Yeah, this tarp is huge. MomMeck's took about 19 yards of material and over 250 feet of stitching! One thing to note though: the pink material is 65" wide. The black is 64". The new silpoly materials from RBR, or Dutch's Xenon are 58" wide. So if just the side panels are 58" vs 65", it will be 14" narrower, or 7" less material width per side. If you look at the picture above, you see that even with the higher roof, the sides almost reach the ground.

Do you think you would really miss 14" from that monster?

You wouldn't think so, but it is noticeable. There is a larger gap between the bottom edge and the ground. The roof frame accounts for part of this, but wider material makes a big difference in coverage.

Hey, we successfully lobbied (with our wallets?) For 72" wide hammock fabric. Let's all come together for 6 foot, silpoly or silnylon! Who's with me?!

The tarp was awesome at HANGCON! Friday morning a strong line of storms blew through. The Squidbilly "party" Tarp kept all our gear nice and dry along with 7 people taking shelter from the strong winds and driving rain. The tarp got rave reviews. Pop and I could not be happier. THANK YOU Squidbilly!!
