I have a suggestion, it may require a bit of a design change. I think the roof of this tarpent could be supported by two poles, arched from the near end of each of 'meck stands to the far end of the other, crossing in the center.
Maybe set pole ends in a small hole near the end of the top rail. Probably need to stake down the inside legs of the stands.
Maybe sew pole pockets into the Tarpent corners for the roof poles and bigger pole pockets to the 'meck stands. Probably need a line of grosgrain or something else un-stretchy between the pole attachment points on the end. That would eliminate the need to stake the legs.

I wish I could sew - maybe someday.

We also have 3 Squidbilly tarps and are very proud to show them off any chance i get.
The man does excellent work and should have his own cottage store selling tarps, he would be very busy!.
He made me an oversized sylpoly tarp for 2 side by side hammocks awhile back and i need to get some pics posted soon, it's a beautiful tarp with a second to none level of craftsmanship.
    Thanks again Dale.

I've been experimenting with different methods of supporting the roof of this monster tarp.
The pole method GBD suggested in post # 13 above looks great but didn't perform well in the rain. In fact, it collapsed because water would puddle in spots weighing the roof down. Grograin straps do work well to keep the stands from tipping outward though. I could have added more poles but it would get really complicated and expensive. The best solution seems to be pvc pipes and fittings forming a gable roof with an aluminum tent pole ridgeline. They are light, cheaper than tent poles, readily available, and best of all: it works to shed rain.

I think that you would have to be very careful to sand and smooth every connection of the pve where the tarp lays on it to avoid cutting into it from wind rubbing, sometimes the pvc comes fairly rough and the fittings nay have sharp edges but overall it looks like an awesome set up for a 2 person solution.
    Nice work Dale !!
