    Ground cloth or mat?

Who here packs a small piece of ground cloth or matting to stand on while changing or getting in & out of your rig?

What material & how large of a mat do you carry?

Nope ... that's what camp shoes are for.

In some circumstances they may be clipped to a short piece of that orange thin cord from Speer that permanently hangs from the ridge line over the HH birth canal so that the shoes are outside but easily available from inside.

I have a piece of Neat Sheet hemmed to about 3' x 3'. It comes in handy for a lot of things. Almost nothing sticks to it. Just pick it up and give it a snap and any dirt or rain spatter is gone.

I use a piece o' Tyvek. Wash it before you take it out with you so it'll be quiet.

I use an old piece of a coated poncho I hemmed in a rectangle ... makes getting in and out of your hammock clean and easy ... and easy to put on your camp shoes.

I saw Ken's Neat Sheet in action in Linville Gorge this week. It's amazing out the stuff just comes off it. Going to have to make me one of those!

Same here. Mine is 6 x 8 in case I need a larger ground cloth for sleeping in a shelter (boo! boo! boo!).

I have a 3'X6' piece of Tyvek I carry. I strap it to the outside of my pack so I can pull it out quick to spread out for a break if the ground is wet. Or, God forbid, I have to go to ground. And Crocs are great for those middle of the night Bio-breaks.
