    Trip Report: 2015 Fall MAHHA

Amazing weekend. My kids had a blast, and really enjoyed playing with, partying with, and snacking with the other kids who attended. It was great seeing the folks I've met at previous hangs, and especially awesome meeting so many new folks.

The event was well organized, the food was super good and there was loads of it.

I want to take an extra moment to thank the many, varied, and unusual people we collected stakes from for our many tarps, because this bonehead left a big bag of them in the garage in Dirty Jersey. The Mecks, GoGrillz, and Uphill each supplemented my initial supply of zero, and one other person handed me the single remaining stake that we needed in the darkness, and I never figured out who you were. I'll be happy to send your stake back, along with a gift, if you step forward.

I spent a lot of time talking to the Meck family this weekend, and I'm here to tell you that they are First Rate peeps who make First Rate products. I got my Envy-S this summer, so this weekend, with lows this morning in the mid-30's, was my best test of the Envy-S to cover so far. It's amazing! The top cover really helps with the interior temp, and being able to vent it as much or as little as I want, wherever I want, and most importantly, not having to reach up to the head end to do it (that's crazy talk!) makes my Envy-S the most versatile hammock I've ever seen.

My kids slept well and loved their hammocks, but now one kid wants to replace his WB XLC with an orange hammock (and he loves his XLC!)

I'll leave the story about The Tree to folks who had to pull there stakes out of the ground at eye level.

Anyway, super time, sorry people, across the board!

We are still driving home to Boston but what a great time. We arrived to an imminent storm and quickly set up our tarps- and then a micro burst descended upon us and dropped a tree pretty close to the king of bling.. But he survived. Here's me hunkering down
After the storm passed we set to meeting everyone. We set up right next to the Meck clan and enjoyed the pink hue of their Tarp Mahal
We drooled over flashy pretty hammocks
    We napped
Learned how to make my own set of whoopies (thx Dutch for your patience)
Woke up to a balmy 33F ( I thought we drive South).. thank you Alex & Amanda for encouraging us to come and thank you Mid Atlantic'ers for welcoming a pair of NEHHA'ers!

Our rig- Dutch's creation. I think it was $18 and uses a spreader bar ( we use the Ridgerunner one)

I want to give a big thanks to Doogie for the map and compass reading lesson, as well as for his assistance with making whoopie slings. Thanks as well as to Allen for his ultra lightweight packing lesson. His fully loaded pack weighs less than my pack empty. A huge thanks the George from Loco Libre Gear for lending my daughter and me a pair of UQs. This was our first real hang in cold weather, and if it weren't for George's generosity of spirit, this would have surely been our last. We were quite toasty and will be back in April for more hanging with some of the coolest folks around. Thanks for all who organized the event, and thanks to Dutch's daughter for picking a whole bunch of my raffle tickets. Looking forward to using this new Hammeck Breazy and Hennesey Hex! See you all soon!

My kids were way psyched about the quilt Big Carl won, and they loved the idea of naming quilts after spicy peppers.
