Near Austin TX

Anyone near Austin planning a trip? I'm looking to meet some new people and find some new places to camp around here that allow hammocks. I am new to TX and am having a hard time finding places that allow hammocks. Thanks for any info!

McKinney Falls, SE of Austin is a great little State Park and they were very welcoming to hammock for our Frozen Butt Hang last January.

Howdy and welcome to the trees, err the hunt for trees in Texas that is.

Some of the state parks I've hung in that are in your neck of the woods include McKinney Falls that Hummer mentioned, Inks Lake, Colorado Bend, Pedernales Falls, and Enchanted Rock.

I haven't hiked it yet but there are a number of Austin area folk who like the Goodwater Trail around Lake Georgetown.
