So; at 56 and camping actively (BSA Troop leader) I decided to go airborne and fitted myself to a mosquito-beater as a cheap stater tent/hammock. I was hooked on night one! It took three nights, three separate sets under differing conditions but, I have resolved not to sleep on the ground again if at all possible. Absolutely should have done this years ago! I have been telling guys about this and comparing it to falling asleep on the couch at home. I am normally a stomach-sleeper (TMI?) but I tell them; "If you can sleep on your couch, you can sleep in this hammock." So think I'll use this a few more times, pass it down to my son if he wants it, and then upgrade a bit. I can see where a bit more room for gear or cold weather fluffing stuff, would be advantageous. I'm also going to be one of those guys that opts to carry a bit more weight and have a very large tarp. That's it!
