Has anyone used one yet, and if so, what are your thoughts (vs the plastic ones from REI)???

Had one for about a month now. Only used it a couple of times. Hands down, no comparison to the plastic variants. Extremely durable and lightweight. Wrap a handkerchief or something around the but end when digging though, can be a little rough on the hand. Best pooper scooper available in my limited experience.

You have a name and or a picture?
Dutch has one on his site that looks great. Its called the Deuce Scoop. Its on my wish list.

I got an aluminum Deuce of Spades right before Dutch took over production. The AL is actually lighter than the Ti version. They would possibly make it thinner from Ti and thus lighter but I think it would be so think you'd cut yourself using it.
So far it works but I find it to be fairly messy to use since its so small. Its about like using a regular spoon to eat a freezer bag meal with, you get your hands all down in the dirt.
I always look for a rotten stump hole I can use. No digging required.
How wide is the REI Snow stake?
