Good rain testing opportunity this weekend!

Central NC is supposed to get a whopping 5-9" of rainfall this weekend. What an opportunity to rain-test some material and tarps!

Looks about the same for Georgia. My RBR tarp is set up to test a new Hammeck stand. Bring on the rain! RBR will keep us dry.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Tell me about it. And it's already been raining here for the better part of a week.

Last weekend at Kerr Lake was pretty interesting (just over the NC border in VA). The lake had 2 foot waves with white caps and the rain was everything from mist to heavy. My son had his very first hang using a 8x10 REI blue tarp in a diamond-like shape and stayed dry. We both had the windward corner all the way to the ground. Now he loves hammocks!

Over half of the ground dwellers had water in their tents - generally rain blowing up under and in.

It hasn't stopped raining so drying out has been a challenge.

Oh, and the giant branch dropping from the sky was pretty scary at 6:00 a.m...good thing I looked up before setting the hammock!

Plan on trying out the new 12ft Kelty Noah tarp this weekend. It's going to be nice having doors!

We got 3" of rain here Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning. Had my Silpoly tarp out in the stand the entire time.

I'm hoping we get some good rainfall from Joaquin
