WOW! I am so glad you are ok!
We were not aware the stand had tree repelling powers
Such trees are called "widow makers" for a reason!
Glad you're safe!!!

Glad you are OK. That will get the heart going!
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!
Well, I hate to admit it 2ply...Something very similar happened to me TODAY! I had a dead apple tree in the yard, not super tall, maybe 12 feet or so, but plenty big enough around to hang from. The wood was hard enough to support me in my hammock and my 8 year old in his....but what I didn't account for was that there wasn't any more roots holding that sucker down!
Fortunately for us as we are hanging there, it started coming down in slow motion, but fast enough to make me very concerned. I held my foot up to brace up one limb from hitting me in the face. Saved my face and head for sure.
As you know hindsight is always crystal clear. A very stupid thing now that I consider what I actually done.
Shug said to look out for widow makers, but didn't say anything about not hanging from dead trees
So to everyone, let my close call be a lesson to you. Don't hang in a dead tree, no matter how strong it looks. Plumb stupid for sure!
BTW - great videos Shug.. I have been laughing my butt off two nights in a row going through them!
