    Dutch did it!

Ordered a small Hexon 1.0 hammock, 9'x4' last Tuesday and received it a week later. Made my own amsteel loops and threw on some light weight carabiners (23g each). Total weight is 6.7oz. Fabric weighed only 4.8oz!!!

If I switch out the carabiners for soft shackles made from Amsteel,- that will shave off another oz, down to 5.7oz. Add in whoopies and tree huggers, and I'm at 9.3oz for a complete hammock!

Did a short hang last night when I got home from work and it'll work great as a lounge hammock or naps during backpacking trips.

Look up the phantom grappler hitch as a good alternative to the soft shackle.

Wow! that's really light. How small did you have the hammock made? Mine is 8.5 including amsteel whoppies and stuff sack (didn't weight just by itself) but it seems like it would need to be pretty small to get to 4.8oz.

Edit: doh reading comprehension fail. I just reread your post and saw you listed the size in your post (9x4). Once I did the math with that I can see how it’s so light. Amazing.

I'll get pics tonight. It was dark when I set it up last night. Whole thing fits inside a standard ziploc sandwich bag with room to spare. Love the fabric though. Super comfortable.

I'll check out the phantom grappler hitch when I get home

You have to get those heavy biners off of there.
