    Dolly Sods Wilderness area report.

    Hello everyone,

Finally finished a short video of my Dolly Sods Wilderness Area trip from August. My brother (trees company) put the trip together. Joining us was our father and my brothers coworker Chris.

Pictures and video doesn't do this area justice, if you have never been there it is certainly an awesome experience.

Always a great trip if you're in the Sods. That's where I'll be this weekend. Looks like a bunch of rain though.....

Yeah, great place. I haven't been in since the 1970s, before they took it over from all the private interests.
It can really fool you though. Ol' Dolly looks all soft and rolling, smooth, and sorta buxom.
Then you try to go down from the plateau to one of the other ridges. Surprise! What a b**ch!

    Thanks for the video memories...

i just spent several days hiking through the dolly sods. It had rained the 4 days prior and on days 2 and three of the trip. Scaling the rocks in the fog was surreal, but seriously, I'd avoid the Dobbin Grade trail if things have been wet.

Dobbins grade is wet even when it doesn't rain. Its only for a mile or so though.
