I got off work last night at 1930 and headed up into a local canyon to hang over night and watch the lunar eclipse. There was fairly thick high clouds so the veiwing was not very good but the drive up to Condon Peak campground was a gain of 2000 feet elevation and meant the low last night was down to 60. It has been over 100 the last four days and the lows have only been in the low 70s in town. I envy those of you who have real seasons.
I awoke at 0200 and it looked like daylight with the light from the super moon. I would have taken a picture but I was too comfortable to move. I hung my new tarp even though I didn't need one. I set up camp in the dark and broke camp this morning in the dark. I have to go to work again today so I was up early. I had the whole campground to myself. Trees close enough to hang from are at a premium here and these two were actually too close for my tarp. If it had not been so late when I arrived I would have gone higher into the hills outside of the campground where the hanging is better.

It wasn't exciting and the pictures aren't spectacular but at least I was hanging. It was a good night.
