Now that All my gear is dry and somewhat cleaned, I'm missing my straps and a pair of biners. Left them hanging in the woods. Wonder if they will make it to the winter hang or someone will find them beforehand. No big loss, just a stupid brain freeze on my part. Still got 4 sets of straps to play with.

Another weekend with heavy rain this time down on the GA coast. Hoping all you folks in the Carolinas got your tarps pitched tight and hammocks hung high! Might want to get your kayaks and canoes in a handy spot cause Momma Nature is going to be roaring again.

Sheesh, I am still trying to dr stuff! I live in a small place and do not have space to hang large tarps inside. It's a mess. I have been trying to hang things whenever I see a break in the rain, for a few minutes. It doesn't get "dry" just "less damp." Sigh. sooner or later.

Thanks for the videos Alex/ ShellHammock!
It was good to meet you. I really like the hammock/ insulation set up you have designed. Very practical & functional.
Hope we'll see you at another hang.

Also, thanks for your donation to the raffle!

Having a small space for drying & more rain sure does make it a challenge. But you'll get there.

Took me three days to get our gear dry again, not a result of hanging it outside either. Rain has not stopped here, had to hang all our gear in the shed. I am already to go back this weekend, anyone want to join.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

    Batten down the hatches!

Where were you hanging? I may get back to GHSP some day soon.

Thanks Davy. If you are at the picnic tables/tarp looking back uphill toward the road, I was in the far upper right-hand corner of the woods. The campground sign was just outside the woods behind me.

Hope you'll keep it in mind for next year.

Does your name refer to the Pine Mountain in the Mount Rogers Rec Area?

2 plus wks past, I comment. Can't be sunshine all the time and that's OK. We had Big Blue 2 (what was the final name we came up with ?) and each other. It was good times. Had to dry Blue in the ambulance bay because the rains just wouldn't let Va be. Everyone enjoyed it's smokey aroma.I sat under it to do reports.Hope to see everyone back in January !
