Haters gonna hate
Nothing like higher education just outright banning hammocks rather than teaching them how to hang correctly without harming the trees.
Hanging in the woods, paddlin and catching trout- My kind of living...
Figures, just yesterday I ordered a 9' DL from arrowhead for my daughter to hang at her college, she said there are plenty of people on nice days hanging. She mentioned that one guy hung between a lamppost and a tree.
If they do ban hanging, which I'm sure they will, maybe some enterprising future leader can go to the admin and petition for the college to put up hanging posts...kind of like R&R for the kids to decompress from studies. Worth a try.
I have two daughters in college and the Jr has been hanging there the whole time... So far.
I'm interested to know if their school will follow along with this.
I just sent them back with some DIY hammocks and pillows.
Knowledge is power. The only reasoning listed in that article for banning hammocks was damage to trees and student safety. Hopefully someone will educate the schools on how properly hanging a hammock does not damage the tree and also educate the students on how to properly hang so there is no damage or injury.
Ban Woodpeckers! Back to good old partying in the frats and dorms then........
Colleges should start making a "Hammock Zone" and enhance the academic experience.
Shug....ex college party boy
Whooooo Buddy)))) All Secure in Sector Seven
I also think all the viral pics of the ENO promoted 30 foot stack hanging is giving hammocks a bad image.
NJ Hammock Club Facebook Page - Come join the party!
Maybe they need something like this, but byoh.
