    Ridgeline thickness question.

I want to add a ridgeline to my DIY hammock. However, I was wondering if a 1.75 mm Dyneema line would work? Is this to thin, for a ridgeline for a hammock?

I am afraid it will cut the fabric (ripstop nylon). But the fact is, I also want to use this 1.75 dyneema for my tarp and Dutch bling (dutch hook and wasp) can only handle a max of 1.75 mm and I don't want to buy two different sizes of line.

Why would it cut the fabric? Your ridgeline should only be touching your suspension, not the hammock.

It's working fine for me. I made a whoopie ridgeline out of 1.75 zing it to get the length dialed in. I larks headed the fixed loop to the continuous loop on one end and used a 1.75 zing it soft shackle to connect the adjustable end to the other continuous loop. It doesn't really come in contact with the hammock body itself.

True, but it will come close to my fabric I think. Not sure though . I just want to cover all bases.

I use 1.75 Zing-it for a RL on my hammocks. I'ts larks headed to my whoopie slings and doesn't really contact the hammock body. I've also hung from 1.8 dynaglide whoopie slings larks headed directly to the body of a whipped end hammock. When I removed them in favor of amsteel whoopies I saw no sign of damage to the hammock.

Okay this sucks. My guy can only get me 2mm . So the question now is. Will this fit the dutch hook, wasp or flyz? Can anyone test this?

So we're talking about a CRL here (or separate tarp ridge lines) and NOT about a SRL (structural ridge line) ????

It is about both. I am looking for a ridgeline for my hammock and for my tarp and I want both to be the same thickness. But I am going to use Dutch bling on my continuous tarptline and I can only get 2mm thickness. Will 2mm fit a dutch hook, wasp and flyz. If it will I will buy it and use the same line also for my hammock :-).

I know it will probably be very tight on the Dutch bling. But it would be nice of someone here can try it for me and let me know.
