Best bang for the buck UQ? -- not DIY

Hi all, I'm wanting to make the jump to using an under quilt (currently using a sleeping bag with therma rest inside).

The choices are enough to make one's head spin, and most seem geared either to DIY or to expensive low-weight materials like down.

I don't really want either. I'm a car camper most of the time, so while I would prefer small and portable, extra ounces aren't a deal breaker. And while I'm not a DIY-er, cost is a major concern.

So I'm hoping for suggestions on best bang for the buck. Currently the Arrowhead and DD options seem like the front runners. Any one have any experience with them and can compare? Am I missing out on another relatively inexpensive option?

FYI I use an 11 Ft hammock from Dutch.

    Thanks for your help.

My buddy bought his son one the the AHE's when they were on sale recently and I was seriously impressed with it. Very light for a synthetic and well made. I can't speak for DD but you would not go wrong with the AHE.

I've got 2 of the AHE Jarbidge UQs and they are great! Can't beat em for the price. Can't see myself spending $300 on a down UQ seeing as I don't camp below freezing ever.

As far as I can tell. The Jarbridge is a partial length uq while the DD underblanket is full length. That is an important difference an wouldmake me go with the DD. But I have neither, so I can say anything about the quality. I do hear a lot of good things about the DD though.

Yup, Jarbridge is a partial but they offer the New River in a variety of full lengths. But,... don't simply dismiss a partial.

Wondering if shipping becomes a big part of the equation for you(?)

Would have to agree on the AHE Jarbidge, it has pretty good coverage for a partial length uq. I think its a little longer than most.

I have AHE Jarbidge and a New River. They are great, well made, and very warm. I usually use my New River rated at 25 degrees from 30 up to 70 degrees. If I want colder, I have stacked both and gone down to 15 degrees and was toasty.

Just buy an HG or a Loco Libre. You'll be good to go.
