    Klymit Luxe or Static V

Just got into hammock camping about a year ago. Now I own 4 hammocks, including a recently purchased Ridgerunner. I am looking into Klymit pads and am intrigued by the Insulated Static V Luxe and the Insulated Static V Lite. The Luxe is 30 inches wide, which would definitely mean no cold shoulders. Could be a tight fit and make it quite tippy. Just wondering if that is overkill and if I would be alright with the 23 inch Static V. Anyone tried the Luxe out in a Ridgerunner? How about the Static V? For perspective, I am 6' 1" and 190 lbs and I am mostly looking at this from a comfort perspective, not too much of an ounce counter...yet.

Just getting started and you own 4 hammocks? Keep me in mind when you're looking to get rid of some stuff.

Will do Zeppo. Also, maybe the obvious question, will a 30 inch inflatable pad even fit in the Ridgerunner? Just measured and it seems like it would be mighty tight at the foot end.

The fabric at the foot end and head end are actually the same, or very nearly so. The spreader poles are different lengths making them look to be different. The fabric at the narrowest part is 29" - I think a 30" pad, slightly under inflated, would fit just fine. I hope so - I just bought the Static V (23") and found that my shoulders and arms were off the edges (6'4", 200#). I have sold the Static V and will be getting the VLuxe, although I am not crazy about the extra weight.
Aslo, the V Luxe is longer, which for me is a plus...

I have the insulated V Lite and DL WBBB XLC. Have not had a chance to use it in the wild as it has been to warm. I did try it on the porch and partially inflated, it is quite comfortable. It covers the majority of my shoulders. I will try it out at the ens of the month, but may create a SPE if it ends up being too narrow

Thanks for the replies. Klymit is headquartered about 12 miles from my house so I am hoping I can get a hands on look at both pads and ask a few questions... Maybe I'll take the RR along and see if a quick test is an option.

Picked up an insulated Luxe today and it fits. Going to give it a sleep tonight and will report out later.

Had a sleep on the luxe last night. Filled it to about 2/3 or 3/4 capacity and it fit in the WBRR sleeve. Extremely comfortable and helped eliminate any possible shoulder pinch and helped with not having my feet on top of each other. It also made for a pretty great side sleep as well. So, I think I have a keeper in the luxe pad with the RR.
