#56. Since Jennifer 2.0 is keeping me close to home, I spent the night in the backyard, after taking a morning hike at a nearby state park. Not much different than taking off and going backpacking, but at least I had great takeout from a local restaurant and a flush toilet. I have a feeling April backpacking is going to be a wash...

I did the initial 12 months when this thread started and haven't been as consistent since but I've gotten a few in this year. Here's the most recent now that I'm tinkering with a bridge hammock setup. Not super cold (around 30°) but snowy and breezy. I was glad I had the spindrift sock or I would have had to pitch my tarp lower and it's really a bit short for the RR.

Thanks, it's probably my favorite combo as well.

Nights 5-6, 3 nights so far in April part of the covid collection lol. I go back and forth trying to decide if I'm a bridge hammock guy or a gathered end guy. 24 hour time difference here, first night low was 29. Last night temp low was 41. Slept well both nights.

Number 56, another Covid hang. In the 50s, light rain, good breeze. Pretty comfy hang.

Light rain as I setup, but my Freebird dried almost as soon as I lay down.

I saw this somewhere, maybe on this site. A very lightweight phone holder made from a foam covered twisty. I actually had a couple wrapped around my rollbars, so I thought I'd try it. Would be really sweet except that my progressive lenses made me push it down towards my knees!

    Stay safe and keep hanging!

#4 for me...backyard with my first use of external pole mods on the Superfly. Why didn't I do this sooner? Really makes a difference in giving the Ridgerunner spreader bars the necessary clearance to the tarp.

It was 41*F / 5*C for the low. I was comfy with my 0-degree LL Ridge Reaper and 20* WB Diamondback, plus a puffy with hood. Yes, I am a cold sleeper. It was breezy overnight and I had a rain shower just as I was waking up...I slept as well as I do in my own bed. Love this hobby!

    April is done.

May will be in the book within a few days. Then June right away!

Couple more nights in the book......7 and 8 done. Testing out gear and trying to decide which hammock I prefer still. Bridge or gathered end. First night here was done in my ridgerunner with my 40° lynx and hammock gear 40° econ burrow. Temp went down to 35° f with windchill said feels like 29°. I was warm all night with underarmour coldgear on. Second night was in the xlc, temp was 40°f for the low. Had the same clothes and top quilt. 40° wooki used on the xlc. Less wind that night and never got cold. Overall I slept better in the xlc.
