It was a beautiful night! First time the peepers were out, and the first time in 4 months that it got above 30*! By the way, my Wookie Stuff sack is AWOL, if anybody sees one floating about, could you tell it to come home?

#43 is done, but I have to admit, it was pretty weak. Had plans to get out and do an overnight trip, but the stars didn't align and I ended up just doing a night in the backyard for March. At least I'm starting out April with a multi day hike on the NCT, so that will be good for 3 nights!

Tree trunks & swaying canopies...cooling Autumn weather has finally arrive here in Oz.

Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.

#44 is in the books after great 4 day 3 night, 44 mile backpacking trip on the NCT in the Michigan's Manistee National Forest. Joining me on this one was my buddy Gerard and HF members One-Click and Donk67. This time of year the forest is pretty bland, but we clicked off the miles on some great trails with the reward being some awesome hang spots. It felt great to get out and stretch the legs!

We may be motley and dirty, but since it was a point to point hike and it was an easy detour to road crossings, we made sure to leave a stash of beer for each night on the trail. Why carry extra weight when you don't have to?
