Cha ching! #40 is in the books. Had a pleasant 3 day outing at my favorite spot in Michigan. Spent the weekend with good friends, enjoyed some great food (mesquite bbq pork loin cooked in bacon grease), sipped bourbon, ate my last Claxton fruitcake, and topped it all off with 2 nights in the hammock. Life is good.
I just started reading this thread. Nice idea. I had a buddy who did a night outside for every full moon one year. That was pretty cool. Personally, I am at about 107 nights out this year so far.
I finished month 15 now. Winter Solstice night with a near full moon and almost 50°F when I climbed into the hammock with my 40° tq only to wake today to a windy, chilly 30° and a dusting of snow.
I'll do Christmas Eve in the backyard and try for a New Years overnight in Pinchot State Forest in PA. Just waiting for the Snow Gods and the work schedule to coordinate with each other so I can finally get the pulk I built last year out on the trail.

Got #40 in last week. Finally some snow. Temp dropped only to 23°F but that is about perfect.

Got #40 in this past Wednesday with Redwing. Simple overnight at a local state park. Pretty mild temps, only got down to 37F. Maybe January will bring something more challenging.

Great thread. Cool challenge. Been more serious about gear and such for the last 4-6 months. Rumor has it taht Santa may add to my meager collection with some stuff from AHK.......
Have done about 7 consecutive months, total nights around 25. The tensahedron has made it easy to add nights when out with the family. They sleep in the camper, I setup the diy tensahedron far enough away that my snoring doesnt wake them. At home I have a large yard and plenty of trees so my gear has been setup near continual for about 6 weeks. Great for naps and an occasional week night overnight.
got a couple of Costco throws, will play with lower temp nights. Next year upgrades will include a better tarp.
