Month 9 done. My dad wanted sleep out in a hammock for the night: Gave him the choice of the xlc or the ridgerunner. He didn’t think the xlc was for him. He slept great in the ridgerunner.

Scooted out to a campground that I’ve always wanted to check out last weekend. Had a great time - rained all night, heavy in the middle of the night. Left home at 1pm and was back by 3 the next day with a bit of hiking as well.

This campground is slammed during the summer, but I had my complete pick of most any spot. Only 2 other campers in the area.

Month 62 in at the last minute. Another yard hang, but I dug my Hammeck stand out and was surprised I remembered how to put it together without instructions! Was missing a clip, but made a quick mod and it worked fine. Temps below freezing for the first time this season and my quilts kept me really toasty.

63 in the bag. Hit Shawnee National Forest with Trees Company and Revsbentley. It's been a while since I got out with these two. The inclines were truly tough on this old man, but what doesn't kill you makes a great story later, right! Just a little chilly on the way in, but it got down to about 30 overnight. Everything was tuned in nicely, so I was plenty warm. Maybe we'll manage some snow for December!

Month 59 @ Copper Falls State Park in Northern Wisconsin. Unseasonable warm temps (51 overnight) allowed me to sleep without a tarp or sock. Enjoyed the bright moon when I woke up (you can almost see the crescent in the middle of the pic). Love seeing everybody's pictures in this thread.

Enjoy these posts! Reminded me that I didn’t post my last one from 2 weeks back.

I took a quick trip to one of my favorite car camping spots with great views in order to test out my new underquilt from SLD. Got down to low 30s but pretty windy on a bluff - the quilt / UQ protector kept me plenty warm.

I took the long back and and scouted out a few more spots to camp next. I discovered a nice bay that I had never explored that looks very promising for my next night out.

I don't keep a diary or journal, but I backpack year-round and have hammocked on the trail every month since I got into the whole hanging thing in Oct of 2017.

Here's a pic from my 2-night trip a couple of weekends ago, and the following night some friends joined me and we were lucky enough to witness the very bright meteor burst, which was an amazing experience. This thing really lit up the sky!

Hey, Karla! Hadn't seen you here for a few years, didn't know you were still in! Have you taken your kitty out any more?
