Had to go with a backyard hang for March. Too many kid activities to get out. Had a good nights sleep at about 4C. Hopefully I'll make it out to the woods in April.
My camp trip got scrapped this month so I had to improvise last night during a family trip and hang my hammock out back near the pool of the house we are staying at. This was my first test of my summer series quilts from Wilderness logics and it got down to 39° around 4 a.m. I could feel the chill at that point but I was incredibly impressed with how warm the quilts kept me for how light/small they are. It's fun doing this challenge to push my gear in safe environments. 3/4 under quilts definitely require more fiddling but the weight savings is nice.
Got in my March hang too. I had a legit camping hang that we had to cut short, so it was just in the yard again. I vow my April hang(s) will be in the mountains!
Almost forgot to post my March hang. Great night in Harriman State Park, and a successful test of my new UQP/dog tent!
Because my car is temporarily out of commission I couldn't go to the woods as planned. I put my hammock on the yard stand last night and enjoyed a comfortable night under the stars. It was clear and 42 degrees at 6 AM and my top quilt was very damp all over from dew. 6 for 6 so far.
Two nights in April, with my son at Miquelon lake provincial park.
Check out my youtube channel. Vids about hammock camping, geocaching and outdoor fun.
