Nice! I still typically take a tarp, but almost always leave it in the pack. Once I realized I don't turn at all in hammock, I started sleeping with my glasses on and hate closing off the wonderful views!

The view is definitely one of the nice things about sleeping in a hammock!

Geez, 54? Diz and I got out this weekend for a simple overnighter to Mohican, site 4. Erratic winds and a minimum of 21.2F. No tarp and my 0F kit and I was toasty all night. Some of the best stars I've seen in Ohio in ages!

#54 is in the books after wrapping up 5 days at our annual Green Timbers Big Tree Hang. Once again, the hot tent was worth it's weight in gold....and comfort. It sure was nice to end the evening with a warm brandy in front of the fire and have a some good perked coffee to start the day.

#2 for me, just sneaking in at the end of the month of February. Backyard hang again, with the Superfly / Ridgerunner / WM 10* sleeping bag / 20* Lynx / Spindrift combo. Ditched the 1/8" CCF pad per advice from James of LSOH. Temps moderate at 7C / 45F down to 2C / 36F.

Cloudy with a slight breeze to start, then at 0100 the wind picked up and was gusting to 40 kph / 25 mph. I was afraid my stakes that were just tamped down hard into the dense wet snowpack would give way, but they held. I was awake for an hour or so listening to the wind blow and the tarp and Spindrift flap. Then I went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 0800. Very comfortable; I got on one side in the RR and just stayed there.

Tried out my new Goosefeet down socks and they were great. Looking forward to March!

94B56517-9367-4B0F-9047-4C509FA11A63.jpegGot my #26 in on Feb 29th...A leap year hang! Just a back yard hang for me too, but I do love hearing all the trains, trucks on the turnpike, dogs barking, etc. Get’s me in touch with my inner hobo

Low of 18 F, with a real feel of 11 F. I cannot say enough good things about my UGQ 0 F quilt set...I was toasty warm all night, and slept like a baby.

February was a good one. Hot tent was going strong.

I'll start March out with a sleep out back with my bipod stand. Then something next weekend out in the woods.
