The one in the pic is the base camp model. It's pretty big but does a good job for the family. There are two smaller options as well.

Well, I'll join in. I set myself the same challenge a couple of years back and didn't stick with it. The trouble with living in West Virginia is that everyday activities like walking the dogs, getting spring water or working up firewood all take place in the mountains and feel like backpacking. I never need to flee to the woods like city dwellers. Consequently, my actual backpacking trips are few and far between, so I'm going to use this challenge to get myself back in camping mode. Further, I'm going to set myself two additional restrictions: I will not camp in the same location twice, and I will use a different hammock each night (not sure if I own twelve hammocks, but might; doesn't matter, as I will no doubt use this as an excuse to make new ones).
I'm in. I have a couple of nights each of the past 3 months, mostly in the backyard and creek bottom behind my house. Pics to come on at least a monthly basis. Great way to test gear.
Here's my October trip!
Cedar Hill Park in Wallisville, Texas.
I'm in. My first hang was in October on a car camping-day hiking trip to SE Utah (sorry, forgot to take a picture). 8 days on Cedar Mesa camped in the same spot, exploring a different area each day. Heaven!
I am in!
My August hang was during a canoeing trip along the Delaware River with my 11yo son
September we went backpacking at Ressica Falls with the Boy Scouts
October we were at a Boy Scout Jamboree in North Wales, PA
So I guess my 11yo is in too!
He wants a patch if he completes it. (That is the Boy Scout in him, they get patches for everything!)
I have two hammock camping photos to show the first taken in September. I took my daughter trout fishing and camping at the Swinging Bridge on the Toccao River in Georgia which is on the BMT. That is an excellent camping spot for the non-hikers with parking only 1/4 mile from the campsite.

The second picture was taken in October on an overnighter that I took alone to Slaughter Gap which is between Slaughter and Blood Mountains just off the AT in Georgia. It was a very rainy night but I made the best of it with my Kelty 12 foot tarp and my Hennessey Expedition hammock with hex fly.

I am heading out this weekend to try out my new JRB Nest under quilt that is supposed to be delivered today. Not sure where I am heading yet. I am trying to figure it out right now.
OOOOhhhhh I'm late to the party but excited about it!
I'm working too many weekends and too much overtime to get out on backpacking trips, saving up for an AT thru-hike. Unfortunately this means I'm buying gear and daydreaming and not testing it all out enough in different conditions. So this may be the kick I need to at least pitch in the park several times before the real deal.
After April though, I'll be going full time!
::happy dance::
I will start mine this mouth November 14 and I will take pictures. I know I will be in the woods from December , till February for trapping and hunting, after that I will have to work on it.
