It is a 12' ridgeline and so far I'm loving it but only used it on two trips so far. The only thing i would change is I would have him to make the strings underneath that you tie the poles up longer. They are kinda short for my liking, they work but if they were longer it would make tying the poles up a lot easier. That's just a personal preference and no way is a knock against the tarp.

do you have the 50 or the 65? That's the 50 I'm saving up for the 65, I don't think it will ever completely displace my trekker65 but if its as nice as the 50 it could take 90% of the trekker's time

I have the 50 as well- the discounted version. I would like bigger exterior pockets but I love how the pack carries.

I think my next pack will be ULA Circuit or Catalyst, but I'm in no hurry. My SMD has served me well thus far.

Slipped off for a combination "walk about and car camp" last night with the car close enough to access which is nice. You have to take advantage of what you have sometimes. So dry here in Central Ga. I was afraid to have a fire.It was a good opportunity for some exercise and "gear tweaking".One thing I learned is it's always easier to "tweak" by daylight.Wound up loosening my secondary suspension on the HG Phoenix 20 quite a bit and tightening one side of the primary a bit more than the other.Hoping I got that right......Also learned that a half hitch is a good idea if you use double descender rings in lieu of buckles.....yeah....learned it the Hard Way.....

I'm game. I'm going to likely get a Wooki for Christmas and I am sure that will allow me to camp comfortably one night a month even in Illinois winter.
Somebody told me how frightening it was how much topsoil we are losing each year, but I told that story around the campfire and nobody got scared.

14th straight at bert adams scout reservation.

Made it down to 40f this morning with daytime highs in the low 70s and windy.

Used the DIY 15F UQ plus the JRB sniveller TQ and was very happy.

This seems like fun guys! My first hammock is in the mail, but I have two ground dwelling overnights in October.

Here is in the Alcornocales national Park:

    And outside of Ronda :

I'm the one taking the photo, so I'm not in it.

But here we go, my 1/1

I took care of September and October with an extended trip on the NCT in the UP and a quick overnight an hour from home. I've made it a point to get out at least once a month year round. I've really enjoyed this thread😀
