Yep, that is exactly what I was thinking.

Glad to see there is so much interest in this. I will work up a patch or something similar for those that complete the challenge. The "rules" are simple, this will just be an honor system kind of deal. If you say you have done it, then that's good enough for me! I think the pictures and reports are great particularly when folks discover something new about their limits or techniques.

Cool idea!! I will have to work up the gumption to hang. I'm a fair weather hiker and get chilled easily in above freezing temps, so this would be a real challenge personally. Shug always makes it look easy to camp in the deep freeze.

I think ongoing pictures and updates will help encourage everyone to keep at it so I plan on posting updates as I go.

Love the idea, but only one problem...this means I'll have to camp in the blazes of our Midwestern summers here in Nebraska. If you've never experienced 98 degrees and 90% humidity, you're missing out on one of life's finest treats!

Several years ago djminnesota did a 52 nights off ground challenge as a senior project at school. Every Saturday night for a year he slept in the backyard or camped no matter the weather. I thought it was a great idea and tried it myself. Here's his blog of the experience.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Great idea! Is it cheating if you live in the South and only pick nights above freezing?

I guess I'm in, even though I'm a bit worried about winter. But what the heck, gotta push the envelope, right? Great idea!

I planned to do that this year. But missed a few months already.

    I'm in. Start beginning 2016?

We did Indian Cave on what had to be the hottest most humid day this summer, it was still fun, but not as fun right now.
Just an out of shape middle aged guy who loves doing outdoor things with his great kids...
