85 was another yard hang in September, pleasant but nothing to get excited about. 86 was a bit more fun. My best best bud since Junior High School bought a pop up trailer and wanted company to help (it was his wife's first camping trip in decades). Temps down to mid thirties, so very pleasant. It was a state park so, it was packed with trailers and RVs, but I was able to sneak back away from the crowds. My only change to my normal packing was bringing along a real chair.

Sorry that it has taken me this long to find time to download them, sort them, put them in a collage, and get around to posting here.

I had such a great time doing it that I've continued the streak into 2022. Watch for another collage next year. I'll try to package it a little sooner than June in 2023.
I just wrapped up my second year. Here's the new collage.

I had a chance to enjoy some great variety this year. Group hangs and solo backpacking. Rain and snow. Warm sunshine and biting cold. Mountains and lakes. And the woods of course ... always the woods. What a fantastically fun challenge this has been! Looking forward to what awaits in year three!

I’m pretty sporadic in my hangs but now that I graduated to a chameleon I plan to really shoot for the 12 nights a year. September down at Milford state park, $14 site sure beats $85 for one night in a motel.

That's a beautiful setting. Beats a hotel room anytime.

#2 and my October hang. Stopped in Carlye, IL last night in route to a project we do alot of work on. First time using my cheap UQ on the chameleon, might need to upgrade to one that fits it better in the future but with temps in the low 40's and my Indian blanket and fleece sleeping bag liner I was warm all night.

For sure, I’m looking hard at the hammock gear 30° top but maybe the Shenandoah quilt for an under quilt. Being in Texas it’s a pita trying to gauge how much insulation you need. The 30° top would be more for up north and with the 40° I can add reflective padding inside my double layered hammock. Still weighing those pros and cons

I'm in Alabama and went with a 3/4 length 20* UQ because I prefer to sleep in cooler weather and can always vent the bottom when it gets warm. I have a heavier sleeping bag for cold on top and just use a puffle for anything more than 50*.

A few times out and you'll get the hang (no pun intended) of it.

It has finally been cool enough to sleep outside! (I like low 60's and below) Got about 4 weekend nights is so far this month. Three in the RR and one in the Haven Safari. I'm pretty sure the Safari is gonna get kicked to the curb, as the RR is just too comfy. To be fair, the weather on the Safari night was not that good, cool but still a little humid for my tastes. I'm looking forward to some 40's and 50's.
