Yes, that is the plan! I'll have to be careful she doesn't snag my thermarest and leave me with the old foam roll tho! Might just "accidentally" forget the thermarest and only have old foam rolls.
Why not have a tent and a hammock???
I've been trying to figure out how to hang while still being near my daughter in case I need to comfort her when she has night terrors. She would fall out of a hammock, and getting out of a hammock and into a tent at midnight sounds like some stubbed toes. That looks like the perfect setup! I never would have thought of it, thank you!
I went to ground last spring while backpacking with my BSA Troop. I was trying to demonstrate using a small tarp, a ground mat, and a bivy bag as a sleeping method while backpacking.
I woke up grumpy and sore the last day, and I don't think I ever quite got the point of the bivy bag across. I'll stick to hammocks from here on out. In fact it spurred my entire interest in smaller, lighter hammocks just for this purpose.

I made that mistake before of sleeping in a tent rather than my hammock.
Is it hang time yet?
Huge difference in comfort that is for sure!!
I just need to get an underquilt for this winter and I will be set.
