Hey Ben - the undercover is basically a wind blocker and traps warmth in a "dead" space. It can boost the temp range with your UQ 5-10 degrees. And it also protects your UQ and hammock from sideways rain and also fog as the UC has a DWR coating to shed rain/fog/mist. In cooler weather my wife and I always carry one. Since its a "universal" design, it fits gathered end hammocks as well as bridges. In warm weather it can be quite stifling.Originally Posted by benfishin

30 Degrees - just like a gathered end. You may want to raise the foot end a few inches also. When you hang it, the middle should be bowed up a little, that way when you get in it will be pretty flat.
