    Rbtr winter kit

I purchased this kit to make a tarp for my son. His favorite color is red so i got crimson with yellow thread. I usually use black for everything, which makes it easier to do the bobbins and not matter what project you do the black is ready to go. Although this is not my first tarp, it is my first silpoly and the first one i am making for me. I have been debating on how. I think i am just over thinking. So here is a pic of everything but the silpoly. I already cut the triangles and the gg to size. You can see the extra material up top (ty rbtr). I have not decided on the side pulls yet. I am making pockets only in the corners. I willbe sewing the gg so that its in between the tarp and the 300d.

I am just glad its poly and not nylon. I hate cat cuts and hemming them. [AIMG]0829151607.jpg[/AIMG]

Let us know how this progresses. I'm interested in doing a kit also.

Me too! Even though I'm in Europe and will have to pay 25% import tax, it seems like a good option since there aren't many good tarp vendors here and I haven't been able to find light enough silpoly by the roll.

Here are a few more. Its still to hot in my garage. I also dont like how well the bad yellow stitching shows up on the black 300d. I am also questioning my 4 or 5 stitches for a lock stitch. I also try and think secure and sound over ascetics. If I made hundreds of something and spent years fine tuning I would lighten things up. But when I am doing it for someone or myself, I feel better overdoing it. Anyway I am done with 6 of 10 of the tie outs. Here are a few pics of the way I am doing it.Attachment 115024Attachment 115025Attachment 115026Attachment 115027Attachment 115028Attachment 115029

I really cant express how wonderful the rbtr experience has been. I, maybe, could have found things cheaper. Not the silpoly. I have a bunch of 300d left and enough gg to do the side pulls. I havent cut the silpoly but I am sure I will have extra. I got it all in one package all measure and shipped as one set. Not sure what final product will be but the materials are top shelf.

Hey maybe I can smuggle some to Sweden. I am sure the plane ticket and room and board should bridge the gap.

Good suggestion! With a big enough order that might actually pay off

Actually the other day I watched Ex Machina and loved the location it was filled. I looked up how much it would be to go to Juvet Landscape Hotel, Alstad, Valldal, Norway. When I win the lotto and can travel there, you can meet me? That's at least more then half way.

That sewing looks pretty good to me.

Looking forward to seeing the project come along.
